NELSON GORD PROFESSIONAL
Prior to his professional playing and coaching experience, Gord attended the University of Illinois where he was a four year letter winner and a two time All-Horizon League third Baseman. He is considered by many to be the best hitting instructor in Illinois. He also spent one season (2005) as hitting coach for Harper College, and currently works with the hitters at Oakton Community College. Nelson’s memory and attention to detail is uncanny and a great listen. Here he recounts many of them in a podcast conducted by veteran snowmobile journalists Gord Avann and Hal Armstrong. Nelson has also been the lead hitting instructor at Play Ball USA in Des Plaines, IL for the past 5 years and recently purchased the facility from previous ownership. Former Team Arctic and Enduro Team Deere cross-country champion Brian Nelson experienced some remarkable moments during his illustrious racing career. Gord enjoyed the best stretch of his career when he homered in three straight games from June 16-19. He set a career high in doubles, homeruns, and RBI's in 07 while playing for the Kansas City T-Bones. Addressing these issues requires a multi-level approach.

Following the 2006 season he signed a free agent contract with the Houston Astros and went to spring training with the club this year. His best season with the Flyers came in 2006 when he was voted to the Northern League All-Star Team after stealing a career high 27 bases and playing in a total of 93 games.
